FAQ
Is this really free? What's the catch?
Yes. All computation happens in your browser, so serving you costs us almost nothing. The site may show ads to cover hosting and data maintenance. There is no paid tier, no locked indicators, and no backtest length limit.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no signup and no login. Your strategy settings are saved in your own browser (localStorage) and nowhere else.
Where does the price data come from?
Binance spot market OHLCV candles, from 2019 (or each coin's listing date) to now. Historical data ships with the site and is refreshed weekly; on every run your browser also fetches the newest closed candles directly from Binance, so the data is always current.
Can other people see my strategy?
No. Strategies never touch our servers. The only way anyone sees your configuration is if you click Share and send them the link yourself — the strategy is encoded in the URL, not stored anywhere.
Why do my results differ from TradingView (or another tool)?
Backtest engines make different assumptions. Ours: signals are evaluated on closed candles, entries fill at the next candle's open, and when a take-profit and stop-loss are touched in the same candle the stop fills first (conservative). We also charge fees on every side by default. Tools that assume same-candle fills or TP-first resolution will report better — and less honest — numbers. See the guide on look-ahead bias for the full reasoning.
How accurate is this compared to live trading?
The engine is built to avoid look-ahead bias and resolves every ambiguity against you. Still, no backtest is reality: slippage, funding rates, order-book depth and exchange outages are not simulated. Treat results as an upper bound on strategy quality, not a promise.
What does the overfitting warning mean?
If you tweak parameters until the table looks great, you are probably fitting past noise. Check that nearby parameter values also work and that most period windows are positive. The overfitting guide explains how to tell a robust edge from a lucky setting.
Can you add more coins, exchanges or indicators?
The current set is six major USDT pairs, five timeframes and eight trigger indicators plus five filters. More are planned. If something specific would help you, reach out via the contact address on the privacy page.
Is this investment advice?
No. This is a research and education tool. Past performance does not guarantee future results, and you are solely responsible for your trading decisions. See the terms of service.
Why did my backtest produce no trades?
Your trigger combination is too strict for the selected market and timeframe — five stacked conditions rarely align on the same candle. Remove triggers one at a time, widen thresholds, or try a longer timeframe.
